Welcome to South Africa!

Day 1 Cape Town
This is our arrival/meet and greet day! We will meet at our guest
house at 3pm and have the opportunity to get to know each other
over bubbles and appetizers! This is always a fun day to discuss our
upcoming adventure!
Included: Welcome reception with drinks and snacks.

Day 2-Cape Town
Today we will drive through the famous Chapman’s Peak to the most
South Eastern point in Africa. Welcome to the Cape of Good Hope! We
will ascend steps to the top of the hill to experience the most stunning views (hopefully no rain!), afterwards we will make our way to Boulders Beach where we will are almost guaranteed to see penguins and possibly wild baboons too! The African penguins are only found on the coastlines of Southern Africa - (South Africa & Namibia). These
penguins are currently on the verge of extinction. As a result, the penguins are under the protection of the Cape Nature Conservation. Although set in the midst of a residential area, it is one of the few sites where this vulnerable bird (Spheniscus demersus) can be observed at close range, wandering freely in a protected natural environment. From just two breeding pairs in 1982, the penguin colony has grown to about 3,000 birds in recent years. This is partly due to the reduction in commercial
pelagic trawling in False Bay, which has increased the supply of pilchards and anchovy, which form part of the penguins' diet. Once you have had your fill of penguins (if that’s possible) we will take a short drive to the picturesqueSimon’s Town for a beautiful lunch on the harbour.

Included- Breakfast, Lunch and entrance fees to Table Mountain National Park and Boulders Beach

Day 3-CapeTown
CapeTown City highlights!
After breakfast we will drive a short distance to the cutest nearby
town named Hout Bay! The weekend market is filled with local crafts,
wine, beer, and amazing food options! Afterwards we will (weather
permitting, ascend the cable car up Table Mountain to experience the
most amazing views! Then we will visit the multicultural Bo-Kaap area,
formally known as the Malay Quarter. It was a racially segregated
area and is now a historical centre. The brightly coloured facades are
attributed to an expression of freedom. Afterwards you may enjoy
exploring the famous V & A Waterfront right in the heart of CapeTown.

Included: Breakfast, Table Mountain entry

Day 4-Cape Town to Franschhoek After breakfast we will say goodbye
to Cape Town and travel approximately 90 minutes to the stunning
wine-lands area of Fraanshoek. We will stop on the way at the beautiful Delaire Graff Estate for a wine tasting and then settle in to our guesthouse. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy the quaint, charming town of Franschhoek.

Included: Breakfast, wine tasting

Day 5- Fran
After breakfast, the day is yours to explore Franschhoek.  Choose to wander through the shops, visianother wine farm, or lunch on an outdoor patio.
Take a bit of time during the day to visit the nearby grocery store and get your
creative juices going for our traditional “pot luck” dinner at our apartment!

Day 6 Franschhoek to Plettenberg Bay
We will have an early departure from Franschhoek to make our way
down the Garden Route to our beach resting spot in beautiful Plettenberg Bay. This is one of our big drive days of approximately 6
hours but we will ensure there are plenty of opportunities for food/
drink and washroom breaks! Once we arrive at our guesthouse on the
beach, you can relax after a long drive and enjoy a nice glass of
South African wine. The evening is free to
dine at your leisure conveniently at the
guest house.
Included: Breakfast and lunch

Day 7 Plettenberg Bay
This morning after breakfast we will take
a short drive to an Elephant Sanctuary.
Guests are guided on foot through the elephant sanctuary. Guides
will provide in-depth information and insight into African elephants.
You will be introduced to the elephants in the forest area, and here
you will be able to touch and interact with the elephants. You will see
the special relationship that the elephant handlers share with their
elephants and become a part of it. Walk trunk-in-hand with the elephants. See the night shelters where the elephants sleep at night. You
will learn about elephant anatomy and will able to feed them. On
some hot or rainy days you may see the elephants swimming.

Afterwards we will visit the MonkeyLand forest where the primates
are free to move about harmoniously.
By working with Touch a Monkeys Heart Foundation, MonkeyLand has
secured the future of all the primates which reach the sanctuary.
Apart from being the sole custodian of all the primates at MonkeyLand the Foundation is also responsible for the development and implementation of the "Eden Syndrome", which is the process used at MonkeyLand to prepare previously caged primates for their eventual release into the sanctuary.

A dinner reservation will be made at the magical Emily Moon restaurant nearby for thosethat wish to join! Or you may enjoy a lovelyevening dining at Robberg.

our home for 2 nights at the Homestead in the Eastern Cape!
The Big Five: A term that was originally used by big-game hunters,
who deemed the lion, leopard, rhino, elephant and buffalo the most
difficult animals on the African continent to hunt on foot. They are
known to be dangerous and it was considered a feat by trophy
hunters to bring them home. Today, these majestic animals are considered a “must-see” on an African safari trip. Kariega Private Game
